2009, 112 с. (29.7x21 cm)
his issue of Museum International is dedicated to the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary.
Featuring contributions from eminent ICCROM experts, the first section of this issue recounts the institution’s creation, its operating guidelines and mechanisms, and challenges posed by its intergovernmental nature as well as by its ambition to establish an international science of conservation. The second and third sections look at fields such as architecture, artefacts, museography and documentation, where technical expertise has been transformed into strategies for making societies more aware of the role of cultural heritage in their future.
